New in town

Hi All

Well I've been lurking in the shadows for long enough I should introduce myself. 2-3 years ago I thought I'd try out photography, I needed an outdoor hobby, so I bough one of those superzoom cameras. I loved it, anyway a few months ago I decided that I had outgrown my camera and stepped up to the SLR world.
Still a lot to learn, but the frequency and quality of 'keepers' is still rising. I picked up a secondhand fa 50mm 1.4 and I love it, but I probably should have saved my money for something around 30mm.

So anyway, being a new migrant to New Zealland I'm hoping to capture a few pictures of the stunning bird life here. I know, I know, not on a 30.
