New Pentax fan says hello

Hello to all of you Pentaxian people here!

I am a long time (since the 80's) Pentax user from back when me and my elder brother enjoyed the world of film photography through the ME, ME Super and our Pentax LX's.
My brother is actually educated as a photographer while Im an engineer.
When we started our way into digital photography we both went through Minolta, he started with a 7i an I had an IXUS and later Minolta A2.
Then digital things started to happen for Pentax and I had a hard time to choose between *ist D and *ist DS, until I gave in for the latter.
Sad to say, but my brother left the world of Pentax for C*n*n gear , but I will not give in my mission to correct him...I will use every effort I can .

I now have a D-BG2 grip on it's way to me, probably here by Monday, but I still have to wait for days or even weeks for my K10D to arrive.

When I have them both, I will pay him a visit...

I have been been lurking around some different Pentax forums on and off, all the time learning a lot from all of you nice, friendly and helpful Pentax people.

Well that was a litte about me (and an has been brother), my first effort here
has been to vote for the latest contest, have you voted?

Very nice photos indeed...
Maybe, given time I might even dare to post some of mine photos here

Greetings and welcome. Should we expect some very interesting cold weather shots from you soon? I think that would be great. By the way, your brother can be more influenced with your pleasure and quality photography than he can be won over by arguement. Show him the right stuff!

Welcome

Warm welcome,

I have a similar problem with my brother.... he's a nikon guy... but I am not even going to try to convince him. His pics are great.. so are mine. I am fine, just as long he loves to use the camera he's chosen

Here in ja, we say:
"Some like coffe, Some like tea"

Hope to see some images from your camera...

At least you only have that problem with your brother only. I got it with myself...

Welcome!

Sorry clarenceclose,

Way up here in the north of sweden where I live we had a lot of snow and some cold days (sad to say during a low productive period of mine) but now all this has melted and with this the light has gone too...
But, the snow and cold will eventually be back and I might be able to
share some snowy winter shots.

Regarding my brother, I'm confident that just showing a few printed shots from the K10D and me letting him hold and handle it will make him go soft...
Seriously, if he's happy with C*non I'm happy for him.
