Hello from Hartlepool, sunny (I wish) north-east coastal England

Hi,
I got the Pentax bug early....I used my dad's Pentax S1a with semi-auto f2 takumar back in 1965 (I was 5 years old!). I inherited it from him in 1978 but sold it in 1979 to fund a newer SLR. I have always regretted it. That "just hold a Pentax" slogan was absolutely true.

I have owned most major film SLR makes and currently use two digital Canon bodies but always hankered after that solid, precision quality of my beloved S1a.

Being in my late 40s I got that nostalgia feeling recently and sought a cheap S1a body on an auction site. Won it for £10. Not surprisingly, for that money there is an intermittant shutter fault (so I got a refund meaning I only paid the postage). I find the camera a joy to just look at, handle and (with an f1.8 super takumar also bought off ebay), a joy to use once again. Shame about the shutter - I'll post questions on relevant forum areas.

Are Pentax digitals good to use? I look forward to conversing with you all.
