Returning to Photography and Pentax after 30years.

Got the digital bug. Got out the camera bag with the ME Super and 50mm lens and replaced ithob with a KX.
I used to produce my own photo's and went away from it due to the usual things - having a dark space, chemicals, enlargers etc.
I can use Photoshop so a KX seemed to be the way back into a great hobby once again. Plus I can still use the 200mm I have in manual mode.
Have spent time looking through the forums and thought it was time to join. I have questions to ask about this new to me technology and the forum looks a great place.

Welcome, Wood--same deal here.

I'm 53, and used to be into film work big time. Having a blast shooting hundreds of digital photos and it doesn't cost a cent!!!

(Well, there are no FILM costs anyway!)

G'day mate, and good to have you on board.
Welcome to digital photography, and a fine choice in the K-x you made.
Should keep you going for some time - keep enjoying the vocation and your time with us here.

Ash and I always seem to be welcoming new Aussie's to this site. We seem to be mounting a quiet takeover.

A big G'day from me too. The K-x is a a mighty beast Hope you take some great shots with it and share them with us all. You can not only use that 200mm, but any lens ever made for Pentax, and then some others as well. Long live the K-mount.

I'm in the opposite camp, in a sense, I came to photography with seriousness in the digital age, and have never been in a darkroom. The curious, the contrarian in me, however wants to tread an alternative path, and I'm thinking about learning dark room techniques from an old hand or two (if I can find them) and shooting minimalist film camera's.

Anyway, welcome and ask away, this is the best , most helpful bunch of photo-nerds I have come across.
