Pentax fan in Dallas, Texas area

Hello everyone,

It's nice to have found this forum, where people will understand my liking of all things Pentax. Most I've found do not value Pentax cameras very much and seriously underestimate their high quality, unique features, and their good looks (that matters some to me, though not a critical thing to most).

I also have a good number of Pentax telescope oculars (eyepieces) and they are among the very best available and are widely discussed on the most active astronomy forum.

I just upgraded from my original DSLR, the Pentax k100-D to the k-7 and am looking forward to a much more high resolution and dust-free future...any advice on this camera would be very welcome. I bought the Pentax brand for my first DSLR for three main reasons - 1) I have most of the 67 lenses and love them and wanted to continue to be able to use them 2) the image stabilization in the body seemed to me to be unique at the time - if not unique, it is at least very unusual and is a great idea 3) the ability to use 4AA batteries - why the newer k-7 doesn't have this option, I don't know...it was a big selling point for me when I bought the k100-D.
