Hello all...I've been combing through these forums for a few weeks. I was looking to purchase my first DSLR and my initial research led me to the K-X for it's price, low-light ability, and fast continuous shooting. Previously I've bought Canon products (p&s and hd camcorder), but it seemed that for a beginner dslr that the Pentax had more to offer for less $$$.

So I've debated between the K-X and K-R for a few weeks, and ultimately decided to go with the K-X which I got for $639 on Amazon. Once I get the hang of it, I'd definitely like to get a fast prime (maybe a 50mm 1.4 or 1.7) for indoor shooting of my daughter mostly.

Hey Blueblazer22x. I left Canon to come back to Pentax as well, and both have great cameras but I think you'll really enjoy the K-X.
