I haven't used any SLRs before and don't have any significant experience in photography. I'm going to buy my cousin's K100D soon, and thought I'd register for this forum. Right now I'm mainly interested in taking pictures for my biology field classes, and some houses.

I just bought the K100D from my cousin. I also got the 18-55mm and 50-200mm DAL kit lenses from the K-r, which he really likes (he got the kit so I could buy the lenses from him).

The camera is really spiffy, but its only okay with low light. He also gave me 2 UV filters, 1 polarized filter (for my marine tetrapod boat trip), and some disposable lens wipes. He's letting me borrow a Pentax SMC -F 1:1.7 50mm.

It seems like its going to be hard to find a good cheap wide angle lens for houses :S

Just got the k100d myself, my first dslr. Hope you like it as much as I do.
