Hi am new to this. I am looking to buy the Pentax K-x, could you please help and tell me if it is a good choice.
I only know the Canon Power Shot 10. So i am not familiar with SLR's, but am told it is better in the long run especially with the grandchildren taking part in sports and me that is mad over wild life and nature.

Hi lorraine. I got my Kx (my first DSLR) about 2 months ago. It is a bit of a learning curve coming from where I started with my Pentax K1000 SLR, 30 years ago, and after that Canon P+S. I am very satisfied with my Kx, and if you consider price, it must be one of the best entry level DSLR's at the moment. The other advantage is the backward lens compatibility. U can use most old K mount manual lenses on the Kx, just in manual mode
