Hi All,
I have been reading this forum for quite a while now and now I feel its time to contribute too.
Let me introduce the Pentax family. We started DSLR photography with a Minolta 7D and switched a couple a years ago to a Pentax K10D when Minolta became Sony. Nothing agains Sony, but it was not my favourite choice. The K10D died in a accident (it fell out of the car) and now we have a K20D, which is a very reliable travel companion, especially to Africa. That is why WR is one of the more important features of our set. You can imaging that one body is not enough for the both of us, so the new K-5 is definitely on our Christmas wish list.
In our backpack we carry a second hand 50mm, a 18-50mm (standard mounted on the body), a 50-135mm, a Sigma 70 mm (for macro and portrait), a sigma 70-300mm and a Pentax 540 flash.
Our oldest daughter has her own K-x while our other daughter is now very interested in buying a K-r.
As for the future i hope Pentax will keep developing usable and affordable semi-pro camera's and lenses with focus on image quality, user friendliness and hopefully an open software interface so the nerds can develop all kind of nice software for all kind of (mobile) devices.
Chris
