Hello from UK

Quick hello from me.
I mainly shoot RF`s but have a Pentax ME which was given to me following the passing of an in law.
It had a 50/1.7 lens and a bought an additional lens for it ...a 100/2.8 which I use for equestrian shoots.
I tend to use the ME more than some of my RFs so I`ve joined this forum and hope to learn more about pentax lenses and maybe any alternative bodies to the ME which is showing signs of wear.

Regards
Michael

Hi,

What other lenses / bodies were you thinking of?

The lens review/camera review database has been exceptionally helpful for me. While there is so much information in there that it can be overwhelming, once you have an idea of what kind of lens you want, it very quickly narrows down the possibilities with real-world, real-photographer feedback.

Thanks both.
Well body wise prob something to back up the ME.
I`m not too familiar with the relative pros and cons of the film body line up but am gaining the impression that the MX is well thought of.
I use an SLR mainly to cover equestrian events so lens wise would be looking to see if there are any strong performers in the 135 - 200 fl.

I'd actually caution against the MX. Mine, though bought in Tokyo where used cameras are usually in superb quality, turned out to be such a lemon that I threw it out. It literally started falling apart.

Why not another ME?

Hello Michael.

Where abouts in Lancashire are you? - I've a couple of old film bodies just gathering dust if you'd like to take one off my hands.

Perhaps the more sensible option. It`s an ME super actually and seems to have everything that I need in an SLR.
I`m not into bells and whistles .
My other main cameras are both manual RF`s.

That`s a very nice offer.
I`m in the Blackpool area.
