Hi from Switzerland

Hi everyone.

First time I post on this forum.

It seems a lot of people from DPR migrated to this forum, like myself, some will hopefully remember me...

I am living in the french speaking part of Switzerland. I began with photography with the Pentax MZ-5 already quite some years ago. My photos improved slowly, but improved. To really improve, I wanted a digital camera in order to experiment more and having an instant feedback about what I am doing wrong. As Pentax did not release a DSLR for quite a time, I had a N*k*n PS, Coolpix 990. It was very good at that time, but was not a real replacement to an SLR. So I searched for a DSLR.

My existing Pentax lenses and the over sized bodies of the other were refraining me from changing. So I waited until finally the *istD was announced and bought one of the first *istD which arrived in Switzerland in september 2003.

Since then, I also have the *istDS, the K100D and since Friday also the K10D, a great DSLR.

My hobbies are mainly photographing and traveling, which combines greatly.

Do not hesitate to visit my web page on Dominique Schreckling's Photo Galleries at pbase.com

Welcome! Great travel photos in your Pbase gallery. Switzerland gallery reminded me of my visit to Basel back in 2004: I took a trip to Luzern and Kussnacht and scenery along the way was fabulous. Unfortunately I had only P&S camera with me bringing back some decent photos but they were not as good as yours. Next time my Pentax travels with me!

I have just been on your gallery. Wow, great photos...

Do you really realize how lucky you were with the weather? A lot of tourists do not see the Matterhorn at all, or do not even have a clue in which direction it should be...

Wow! Amazing snowy mountains! So beautiful and coooooold looking! I feel cold just by looking at your pictures.

I only went to Switzerland once 10 years ago and I had a high fever 106 F for the time being there...

Looking forward to more of your winter pics!

Am looking forward to your pictures but we get enough snow here, or at least the cold. What I really want to see is those amazing mountains covered with wildflowers and the great trails come spring. Very welcome.

@roentarre: it might be difficult to get snowy winter photos this year. Winter still seems quite far away, it is way too warm for snow, even in the mountains.

@clarenclose: you may find some wildflowers on these galleries:
