Help! I'm very sad!

Hi everyone,

I am very sad because I just bought a used Kx, and this has a serious problem.

Apparently the problem is in the mirror, which sometimes freezes and the camera wont turns off.

When using Live View, it also freezes.

I'm adding a couple of pictures.

I need advise on this, and if it can be fixed.

Besides all, this is an excelent camera!

Please help me!

The images indicate that there is something wrong beyond a freezing mirror. You might want to try a different SD card, but I doubt it will change things for the better.

It appears your camera needs servicing. I very much doubt there's anything you can do yourself.

I hope you can clarify with the previous owner whether the problems already existed before you purchased the camera.

Sorry to hear Enrique.
It does sound like a mechanical andperhaps even an electrical problem. But do try new batteries and SD card and see how you go. Otherwise, it's back to the repair store...

I try to send it to service, but here in Mexico there is no service stations, only representative.
I do not know how much it will cost.

Dark picture.

Thanks guys.

You said you just bought it. How long ago?

I think the former owner cheated you. He knew there was a problem.

Buena suerte, pero tienes que llamarlo para que te devuelva tu dinero.

Hi, I'm no expert, but make sure that , on your menu settings, battery, you have the correct type for the batteries you're using (or auto) checked. I also read in one of the threads that the camera may not function properly with alkaline batteries. If you have'nt , then try lithiums(my choice) or rechargables(my back-ups). Also, has the software(firmware) been updated. It,s a simple process to find out what your current firmware is & to upgrade. To check your version, start with the camera turned off. Press and hold the menu button while turning the camera on. It will display your version. The current version is 1.01. I think the older was 1.0(or something like that) Here is the link with instructions to upgrade. . As Ash said, get a new card. Be certian that you format any card before using it to download & install the firmware if you need to do so. Any data on the card, even though"erased" may prevent it form working properly. Also. Do this with AC adapter or FULLY charged batteries. It only takes a couple of minutes to do but don't try it with "dying" batteries. Sorry so lenghty, I feel your pain & wish you luck. When working properly, the Kx is really a very capable camera

Hi guys,

After trying all your tips without success, tomorrow I'll send the camera to service.

I hope to share good news in a week.
