Hello all!
I joined a while ago, after google brought me to the marketplace, but I haven't contributed much yet. I participated on some threads here and there, and this looks like a great photo community - I am happy to be here!
Several reasons to be happy:
-I bought an AF 1.7 converter on the marketplace: Great price, arrived fast and in perfect condition!
-Another user sent me a PM alerting me to a sale on the AF360 FGZ flash after I had mentioned in a thread that I wanted one. It was less than half prize, and I would never have found it on my own!
-Every thread I have joined has had friendly, thoughtful and funny responses, both to the OP and to my comments.
So, I look forward to hanging around this place, although I have the feeling that the marketplace might be very dangerous for my personal economy...
One thing that puzzles me a bit is the recommendation points. How exactly do you earn them? Do you need to say something brilliant? I can tell that many users have about a 10% points/posts ratio, but I didn't get my first yet (didn't say anything brilliant either, so that might be it...

I am:
a) Amateur photographer since my dad gave me an ancient instamatic and a roll of film on my seventh birthday.
b) Biologist, in love with birds as photographic motifs but lacking money for quality reach.
c) Living in Denmark, where ridiculous flight distances and horrible light conditions conspire to make the life of a wannabe bird photographer extra challenging
d) Looking forward to meeting you all!
