New poster, K7 user from Sydney

Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time posting.

Based in Sydney, currently shooting an old K100D Super and new K7, not sure which I prefer to be honest!

Cheers

Same here.
First post, but I've found the information on this site extremely helpful, especially the lens review section.
I have a K-7 + kit lens + a couple of M42 primes. I’m currently looking to upgrade my kit-lens.

Fixed or Zoom?

What do you want to replace the Kit Lens with?
Zoom or fixed?

I was thinking about replacing it with a zoom, since I've got the manual focusing primes:
Vivitar 28mm f2.5
Super-Takumar 35mm f3.5
Super-Takumar 50mm f1.4
Helios-44-2 58mm f2
Super-Takumar 135mm f3.5
Super-Takumar 200mm f4

I am also thinking of buying a focusing screen from Katz Eye to get more out of my primes.

I want the Pentax DA* 16-50mm f2.8, however I dont think I can afford it right now...
Thus, Im looking at the DA 16-45 f4. I've read nothing but good reviews of the 16-45, but I'd like a faster lens...
I am also looking at the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8, which I think is very cheap right now (around $400), its fast (f2.8), its got great reviews, but its not a Pentax...

Yesterday I've bought a used Takumar-F Zoom 28-80mm f3.5-4.5 for $5 USD (eBay)... I'm going to wait to try it out... if it fits my needs I could end up getting a DA 12-24mm f4. I really love wide angle lenses. I just have to save some $$$.
