Newbie Coming from the Dark Side

Hi, I am just getting started in photography and am at an unusual place right now. I have sold my Canon gear (shipped to new owner today) and am waiting for my new Kr kit to come in (by the end of the week I am told). I feel like I am missing a part of me not having a camera by my side. I am mostly into nature shooting and photographing my kids but hopefully I will start taking more sports shots as that is of high interest to me. I'm looking at putting together some gear still and will only have the kit lens (18-55mm only) right now. I have been looking around Ebay and already can see a LBA forming.
Anyway, I see a couple lenses in the marketplace that will help so I better get my 3 posts in quickly! Any lens reccomendations for shooting indoor sports and possibly real estate interiors would be greatly appreciated.
Take care!

Hi SPG and welcome to the forums. I'm sure that others can recommend indoor sports lenses, I'm not a sports shooter myself, however I can recommend an excellent indoor architecture lens, the Pentax DA 12-24 F4.0. It's rectilinear so there is little distortion and sharp sharp sharp. Excellent contrast and very good color rendition.

Hi from a fellow Massachusetts resident!

Ironically, I've just begun running dual systems with Canon. So far, I'm not seeing much difference (while spending 1.5 the costs). Main advantages are quicker AF and FTM lenses.

K-r is a great choice for a body. Welcome aboard!

Thanks, I didn't have much, the 18-55 kit lens, 75-300 lens from Best buy and a 50mm 2.0. I only had that camera for 3 months. It took nice pics but I was already running up against the limits of the camera (ISO performace mostly). It's funny, I also just joined a local camera club and when I told them that I was going from a Canon to a Pentax I think I heard some gasps...
I still haven't received my camera yet but from what I hear, I'll put my Kr with good glass up against their T2i with good glass.

Hi.
I've had my K-7 since last summer. First DSLR I've bought. I also have the 18-55 kit lens. However, did go through a used-lens buying spree. I got a couple of very nice Takumar primes (50mm f1.4, 35mm f3.5, 135mm f3.5 & 200mm f4) and an interesting Helios 44-2-2 (58mm f2). I got all of these great lenses very cheap at eBay. Now I’m looking to upgrade my kit lens.
