New to Hawaii nad the forum; 16-45 vs 15-50 lense

Ladies and Gents
New military station and now back in the USA, so connecting to the net is so much easier. So now, its time to join the Pentax forum.

I recently bought a K20 and have been debating whether to buy the Pentax 16-45 or the 15-50 lens. I have appreciated reading the forum posts on these two lens - they both seem popular and worthwhile. However, I read with some concern about the SDM motor that fails rather often. Has this trend continued or did Pentax resolve this issue?
