Looks like I'm not the only relatively new K-x owner

Hi all--

Here's an advance thanks to all of you who know what you're doing and are offering assistance to us new folks. Much appreciated.

I got a k-x a few months ago, and have been having a ball just playing with the kit lens (18-55). Totally agree with everyone's comments about the k-x, as well as keeping the kit lens and getting to know your camera for a while.

I recently bought a Vivitar 75-300mm 1:5.6 lens at a yard sale for cheap, but now I have the fun task of trying to convert the skirt (as mentioned on some other posts in this forum) so it will actually lock into place...nice indoor wintertime project to attempt. Should be interesting.

No real questions or anything right now, just wanted to follow the rules and post an intro.

Welcome! I got my Kx about 8-9 months ago and have never regretted it for a second. Along with shooting manual from the get, this forum has provided me with much of my photography knowledge. There is useful information all over it so be sure to take some time and explore. Enjoy!!

Welcome to the forum. I've had a fair few Pentax dSLR bodies in the past, but the K-x is my latest also, and a very responsive little gem it is.
Enjoy your time on the forum as well as your photography.

Welcome aboard, my first thoughts on "trying to convert the skirt" had nothing to do with Vivitar lenses.

Welcome to the forum. I've had my K-x for a few weeks and I've enjoyed using it immensely. It's my first DSLR. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do.

Ha! Guess I should be more careful with my wording.

I love using the Dremel (I'm unstoppable with a fiberglass cutoff wheel) and trimming a lens is one thing I haven't ventured to do...yet

It was a pleasure meeting you and welcome to the Pentax (and PForums) family
