New member from Melbourne Australia

Hello, and a happy new year to you all.

A brief introduction:
I have just joined this forum after looking around for a while as a visitor.
This is a great site - a lot of helpful information from current members.
I have enjoyed photography as a hobby for over 30 years (mostly landscapes, city architecture and recently street photography).
I also enjoy traveling (time and finances permitting), and photography complements this activity well.
A brief history of my photographic equipment (past and present):
Started with a Russian Fed-3 rangefinder camera many years ago, then:
Practica LLC slr
Pentax MX slr
Ricoh KR-10M slr (still have it)
Mamiya 645 slr
Pentax SFX slr (still have it)
Pentax Z20 slr (still have it)
Sony A100 - transition to digital (was OK, but not great)
Pentax K20 - my current tool - great, but high ISO could be better.
I have accumulated numerous (mostly Pentax) lenses over time.
Still searching for a perfect combination - I think I suffer from LBA.
Eventually, I will be trading, selling, buying on this site, once I figure out what I want to keep.

I have attempted to upload some photos as attachments, but was not successful.
The following is the message I get:
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.

Not sure if it is a temporary hitch at the other end, or am I doing something wrong on my side - have tried several times with the same message appearing.
Anyway, will try to post some at a later date.

Hello and welcome Vlad.
Good to have you on board.
Long history of photography you have.
Look forward to your contributions.
Enjoy it here, and don't give up on the uploading of images - that message does happen sometimes - I attribute it to a glitch in the internet connection, but I do know it doesn't happen all the time. Try again and you may get success.

Welcome & happy new year 2011 :-)

As Ash said, your problem sounds like an internet connection glitch. (Those error messages usually mean that one end of the connection has timed out waiting a piece of information from the other.)

Thank you all for a welcome note.

I managed to start the album, but still having problems uploading photos into it.
I think I will go for a long walk and take my camera with me to relieve the frustration.

Finally figured it out.
Firefox was preventing me from uploading pictures into the album, not shure why.
Managed to do it via Interner Explorer.
If you click on my album, you can view the photos.
Critique / comments are welcome and appreciated.

Welcom!
If you like street shooting, we have a social group for that. And you should join Javiers long long thread "capture a stranger street style".

Firefox works fine for me. Strange.

Thank you Douglas.

I have tried to find Javiers thread as you suggested, cannot find it.
Would you be able to provide a link to it?
Greatly appreciated.

Joelepp,
Thank you for the links on street photography.
A long thread that will take some time to see all, but some interesting photographs and talented people contributing there.

Tommot1965,
Thank you for a welcome note.
You are right, this is a great forum with lots of helpful and talented members.
Western Australia is one place I am yet to visit at some stage in future and explore.

Cheers from another Melbournian. You might want to see if the pop up stopper is the problem with Firefox.
