Hello from a new PentaxForum member!

Like many of the people on this forum, I started with a K1000. I would borrow it from my Dad and have used Pentax ever since.

I lost interest as a teenager, but with the great price/performance of the latest pentax dSLRs I decided to take the plunge again

Since buying my camera, I've been hooked and the warm welcome I've gotten here has made my experience even better.

I'm reading books from the library and using the web to get the fundamentals down (composition, etc) so that I can start improving my skills. I also can't resist going out every weekend, even though the temperatures are reaallly low around here right now
(although it's much better than Minnesota, where I lived for several years)

So far, most of my favorite shots have been high contrast, narrow depth of field, or low shutter speed shots (love those river shots).

I'm still a little shy about my shots, but here is a link to my favorite one

G'day mate.
Which dSLR and lenses did you settle with?
Good start with your clock shot.
Keep it up and enjoy the forum.

I ended up getting a K-x with the 18-55 DAL kit lens. I've also picked up an inexpensive Takumar Bayonet 80-200 f/4.5 for fun.

I'm hoping that the 'issues' with the K-5 and DA 18-135 are ironed out by the time that I find the limits of my current setup because that's what I'm hoping to upgrade to (at least right now).

Thank-you all for the welcomes
