Hello from South Wales (not the Australian one)

Hello,

Been an amateur photographer since I was about 12, now 52, still making useless photos and hoping to learn from you chaps

I have a K-x and the kit 18-55 lens. No other kit apart from a useless tripod and a few filters.

I have been lurking for a few days and have learned a huge amount already - the first still life in which I could claim some pride was created last night.

Looking forward to conversing with you all and learning from you. I may, on very rare occasions, be able to teach someone something useful - but don't hold your breath.

welcome mate, ive been to new south wales, but never south wales, but that we be amended in august

Hello, that's where I am too.
I've been to the Australian version - weather is much better but the beaches are too busy.

Welcome to the forum South Welshman.
I came from the New version (in Australia), but timh, there are so many beaches in this country, I'm sure you didn't venture far enough away from the major centres if you found Aussie beaches too crowded...

Yes, you're absolutely right! I did only go as far from central Sydney as I could bear in a bus in 40 degree heat (which wasn't very far at all).
