Kodak Brownie Box Camera to DSLR + old dogs and new tricks

Hello all,
I live Nova Scotia in Canada.
I've been taking photos for a long time, pure amateur, and pure fun. I started out with a No. 2 A Brownie Camera model B. that my parents gave me over 60 years ago.
I've worked my way through a series of different types, makes, and models over the years. I got my first Pentax, a K1000, in 1977 and traded it in the mid 80s for a Super Program. I really enjoyed both of those cameras and learned quite a bit, (amateur that is), from them. I caught the digital bug in 2002 and purchased a simple one shot, then a little better one 2007. Sadly, my SLR gathered dust.
I just made the jump to DSLR with a K-x with 2 kit lenses, an 18-55mm and a 55-300 mm. I have a couple of my old SLR lenses that I intend to play with once I get the hang of the new ones.
From day one with the Kodak ``box`` I am self taught, (thatís before the internet), so there is sooooo much I donít know. And my geriatric memory is failing to recall very many of the lessons I learned with my SLRs. So please have patience with this old dog learning new tricks.
I look forward to picking your brains and exposing my very blurry focus on photography with you.

cheers
Jim
