I used this forum a ton as I was trying to decide which camera I wanted for a Christmas present. I spent enough time here to feel as if I know some regulars already. My 35mm experience goes back to an (obviously old) East German camera. Otherwise, I've been using various point and shoot digitals. I had no investment in lenses, but I was sold on the bang for the buck that Pentax still seems to deliver and the wealth of old glass.
The kx seemed to be at the price sweet spot, with the kr on its way, so I went for the kx. Maybe a K5 someday, but for now, there's money for lenses. And learning what the kx and the kit lenses can do.
There I'll be looking for lens advice. My interest is in landscapes and structures (drawn to abandoned ones), as well as general family photos. I also will need to use the camera for taking pictures of documents in archives.
On to poking around..
