Good evening from Sydney

Hello everyone,

<stand-up> My name is Calin and I am a Pentaxian. <sit-down>

I look forward to meaningful discussions on photography & pentax gear. I am fairly new to the dSLR world (started Oct 2009), although I have been an avid photographer for a very long time. (non-SLR)

I spent over 2 months back in Oct 2009 considering wether I buy a Canon 500D or a Nikon D90. It was a close call and might have went with the Canon 500D however an article in dpReview prompted me to read more about this camera, a Pentax K-x. The rest as "they" say is "history" and not for a second since have I thought about my decision to take on the wonderful world of Pentax.

Hope to hear from your experience deciding to become a Pentaxian and see some of your photography.

Welcome! You made a good choice in the Kx. I had a similar decision for my first ever DLSR about a year back and also have not looked back. This forum has been a big help in making me a more well rounded photographer. There is useful info all over so be sure to take some time and explore as much as you can and ask questions. Enjoy!

Looks like this weekend we'll be chasing birds, better take out the 17-70.

I will post a few of my shots this
weekend. I will also drill down through the forum to
understand the structure and learn more about the serious
contributers.
