A French Noob Introducing his good self

Hello everyone,

I'm a french noob photographer, boasting myself of having a Pentax K-7 though unable to use it properly for the moment. I have quite a lot of projects but only a few money. I hope I'll find some people to help develop some useful techniques. Also, I'll need to get rid of this 18-55 quite soon. I intend to do some wide angles pics, use HDR filters (but not the ones that make the pics look like bad videogames), do some portraits maybe and a lot of useless holiday pics. My intentions are mostly to do something reasonably close to what I had in mind (may it be a precise idea or just some...thought)

I'll probably annoy you quite a lot as soon as I have time to focus my efforts on photography! Here are some of my first pics, if any of you are interested : Flickr: j.quetard's Photostream

Welcome aboard and enjoy your new camera. Go and shoot and you will learn. Your Flicker shots are amazing, so you will do well

Hi, I am new to the Forum, and have had my K7 3 days. I will tag along and see what kinds of Qs you bring up. Your pics are great. I liked Emo Statue the best, but the Soviet Prison #1 literally gave me a chill. Good art makes you feel something, I have heard.

and welcome to LBA

BTW the kit is worth keeping around for bad weather if nothing else. It's maybae not as good as some people make it out to be but it is quite functional and results can be had with it this hdr was with the kit

The HDR is nice indeed, I'll try that some day (when I find something interesting too shoot).

thanks for the compliments! I do not yet intent great art but there are still some pics that I am proud of. My aim is now to shoot good pictures more often intentionnally rather than by accidents^^.

Ha thanks but I'm pretty certain there is many interesting things to shoot in Grenoble. It's always hardest to get enthused in the environment we live in daily as everything is overly familiar to us
