I have been an admirer of the arts all of my life. While in school it was rare to be without a sketch pad and pencil and when given the chance to take a photo, I was game. Years passed and I found myself easily bored with normal store bought cameras. In the beginning of 2010 I finally branched out and for the first time in... well... forever I made a big purchase (for me anyway).

Currently I own a Pentax K-x, I chose this after three years of comparison between Cannon, Nikon and Pentax. There were a few problems with the camera which showed up about six months after the purchase. It took about two months for the company to 'trouble shoot' the problem as it was apparently an issue they had never run across previously. I'm glad to say I did get the camera back in 'better than before' condition and have been pleased with the results thus far.

I recently purchased a remote, 55-300 mm lens and external flash to enhance my experiences. At some point I would like to upgrade but for now, it suits my needs and my ability to branch out and learn more about the art of photography.

Attached is a photo of my children and one of the sweetest best friends you will ever find.

Welcome to the Forum, Sandra! Your children are beautiful and made me think of my granddaughter. I just got my Kr and have not gone to visit her in Las Vegas so I have not taken pictures of her yet. Enjoy the camera and post more pictures soon!
