Used Pentax back years ago and am going to purchase a K-5 despite the "helpful" advice from friends that I should buy a Canon 7D or Nikon D700...I think I am going with my gut and what has worked for me in the past...any guidance would be appreciated - GW

Welcome to the forum, glad to have you with us. For more info on the K-5 why not go to the Pentax K-5 forum and then to Post your Photos to see some great shots taken with K-5 cameras.

Welcome to the forums, congrats on your purchase (over a D700 even!). I and most others here are very happy with our K-5's. Lots of great info and resources here and lots of well experienced shooters to tap in to!

Welcome and congrats on your decision to not be a sheeple
and go along with the canikon crowd. When you show your
friends your K-5 results it will prove your wisdom
