New to the DSLR scene.

Hi my name is Khurram.

I just bought a Pentax K-X and am a complete newbie to SLRs. I am really excited about photography and hoping I can learn a lot from this forum.

I think this forum is a great idea and will be on here a lot.

I also just got a SMC Asahi 50mm 1.4 manual. You know anything about this lens? I use it much more than the kit lens....which is not so great. I was thinking about getting the 17-50mm f 2.8 Tamron as my walk around lens.

Any ideas, suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Also it seems to be really easy to accidently turn the picture mode ring on the top right of the K-x.

Hi Khurram. Welcome to the forum. I've only had my camera, and a 50/1.4, for a few months, and this forum has been a big help.
