Hello from Lawton, OK

Hello all! I recently bought a Pentax K-x on Woot, and I am trying to get back into my hobby since it has transitioned to digital from film. I took a college class in photography 13 years ago with my trusty Pentax ZX-M. I decided on the K-x because of my old ZX-M, which still works. I've been out of the hobby for about a decade now, and hope to get back in! My dad was also a Pentax fan, with his old K1000 and many lenses to go with it (which I have access to).

I got two lenses with my kit, a DAL 18-55mm, and a DAL 55-300mm. Neither lens is particularly fast, but that's OK for now. Since my old flash died (and was probably unsafe to use with the K-x anyways), I also bought a Sigma EF-610, which is an absolutely insane flash. I still remember how to bounce.

Hello from Duncan OK. Good luck on your transition to digital photography. I think you are really going to like your K-X. I love my k-r and there's not to much difference between the two. I just got into photography so the K-R is my first DSLR.
Best wishes

Do we have anywhere in SW Oklahoma that counts as a local camera shop? I guess Epperson is fairly close if we don't.

Hi, and welcome, Drew. There are lots of us here who are pretty new to dslr photography. I think you'll enjoy the help and info available here.
