Hello from Big Sky Country Montana!

I just took the leap from point and shoot to the new K-r slr and have been reading a lot of informaton on the camera as well as information on different types of filters, lenses and most importantly, the settings to get the best shots.

Now, if it every quits raining up here I might be able to get into GNP and take some photos

Great choice on choosing Pentax and the K-r. My welcome also. I've heard that GNP is a great place to shoot. I hope to get there someday soon. Post some pics to give me incentive.

I certainly will Dennis. Once all of this rain stops and we get to see some sunshine! Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome to the forum, Mark. Spring's been pretty bad here too.We drove the Going to the Sun road, and that beautiful bit of Hwy 49 east of the park, but alas, it was in my pre-Pentax days. We'll have to get back there, but you can do us a favour by posting some shots for us!

And everyone.. May get some halfway decent weather this weekend. They are still chewing through 20 foot snowdrifts on the Going to the Sun road and are about 3 miles from the pass! Unbelievable...

Send some of that rain to the TX panhandle, please!

I read that MT is experiencing some flooding - I hope it's not affecting you.

Almost drove up into the Park yesterday to look around, but it was too wet and chilly, figured I'd wait for some better weather. Agree that the snowpack is pretty crazy this year. No significant flooding around here, just a few places along the Whitefish river.

For those that may be interested, Glacier Park personnel update this Flickr page to post status of clearing Going to the Sun road.

We have flooding all over the place up here and the bad thing is that the snow really hasn't started to melt at the higher elevations..

Kalispell is where I live. It has been a dreary spring, but the forcast is calling for the upper 70's/lower 80's by midweek.. YEAH!!! Need some color on my legs because the kids say I could audition to become a light house beacon!
