Greetings all! I am a long time pentax user and avid viewer of Pentax Forums site, however..THIS IS MY FIRST POST! I am looking for a Tammy 90mm macro or Sigma 105mm macro for the right price...I would welcome any info or suggestions on these lenses.

I decided on the Tammy for 3 reasons. It is lighter, focal length fit a little better into my kit and tadadum, the main reason..... I found good one for sale at the right price.

If a Sigma came up first, I would have bought that for three reasons. It feels nice and hefty in the hand, it stretches my lens lineup into areas I normally don't go and the main reason, I found a good one at the right price.

So my advice, buy the one that comes up first with a good deal.

Thanks GregK8! I have been using the FA 50mm 2.8 macro for a while, but I tend to take more pictures of insects and small reptiles than anything else, and I wanted a longer reach. So I first thought the Sigma EX DG 150mm because of the reach and build, but it's a bit out of my price range right now. I would also like a good portrait option....So I began researching on both the Sigma EX DG 105mm and the Tammy 90mm (becuase of the focus limiter switch). Do you know if there is any signficant difference between the two optically?

Most people that have used both report that there is very little difference if any. The Tamron I find to be extremely sharp.
