New to Forum but not new to Pentax

Greetings all.

Pentax user since 1970s. Have some 35mm camera bodies and lenses. Lots of toys. ESII, ME Super and last purchase was the K100D.

Now I am after the K-5, 2 of em. Along with the 18-135mm and 55-300mm lens. I just got tired of switching lens all the time on the K100D.

I'm hoping the Boss (wife) says okay and I even promised to get her a camera too.

I have an old Casio 1.3 megapixel that killed batteries like crazy. Still works today.

Anyway I hope to find out some thoughts here on the K-5. That's all for now, time to search for forum for some good info.

Things are looking up .. I see 2 K5s in the very near future coming to my hands.

We are making a road trip to the photoshop this week. Fingers crossed, eyes crossed, I'd cross my legs too, if it would help, but I need to walk in the photoshop. Of course another night out at a fancy restaurant might help too.

Getting these two cameras complete with the 18-135 mm and 55 to 300 mm will complete me.

That way I will have two K5s, one K100D, one ME Super, one ES II and a lap full of screw mount lenses, adapters, filters and some new lenses to play with from here on. The last big purchase before the rocking chair on the front porch.

Well it is a done deal. 2, 2, 2 is better than 1 !

I have one K5 in hand with 18-135mm lens and AF-540FGZ flash.

The other K5 is on order along with the 55-300mm lens and the two grips and GPS units.

Now the wife's camera is on order too. So in about two weeks we will have a day to 'click' away.

Now once the battery is charged, I will try the camera out and see what I can do, right or wrong.

I'm dying to try it but the full charge to the battery comes first. I should have got the external DC adapter. Oh well, next trip I'll look into it.
