My first DSLR camera, also a present, is pentax k-x with 18-55 kit.

Welcome! I've had my Kx for 7 months now almost the same time

I'm not much of a photographer, I just love my camera

Welcome, read the forum for lots of good help. Get involved in some of the challenges to learn new things. And share photos! You can learn a lot at this site.
