Hi and looking at new DSLR

Hi all and joined this site a few years ago after purchasing a K20D. Since sold the K20D and now in the market for another DSLR.
Have been looking at used K10D, K20D and K7 and wondering what peoples opinion is of the KR with kit lens' 18-55 and 55-200/300?

Is the KR going to be anything like the K20D or should I just go secondhand?
My budget is upto $1000 and anyone know of stores clearing K7's in Australia?

I will use the camera for travel pics, bicycle and motorcycle racing pics and want to experiment with macro as well.

Have also looked at used Canon EOS40/50D and EOS500/550D and maybe Nikon D3100/5100.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Oh and loved the K20D and the useability factor of old lens' fitting all Pentax :-)
