Two Ausies in a day

Hi fellow Pentax lovers. I have been a bad boy as it has taken so long to join. I have been an avid reader of your blog and used it to make the best equipment choices and find out how my gear works. As this blog is the website I look at most I decided it was time.

My first pentax SLR was purchased in 1974 or was it 73. By 2005 I had accumulated about 2 cubic meters of slides and decided that was it, I am going digital. The goal was to replace my slides with digital - that has proved to be a fun challenge, but I still need to dip into the slides from time to time.

I am now very close to having my ultimate digital kit and am very pleased I was not sucked into Canon or Nikon.

Like most of you I have some strong opinions so I hope to enjoy the usual exchange of views.

Nope, not all at once. Usually just a dozen or so of the better ones...

Yep, I'm in Mooroolbark, way out east. There are quite a few Pentaxians in Melb now.

Gidday Bob, hope you don't go pointing that camera of yours in the wrong direction at the RAAF base.
Oh and is that a lesser speckled bum frump in your avatar?

Thanks xjjohonno for the warning. It is a hoot taking shots at the aircraft at their biannual air show. However for those who want to know about our regions most used photographers is the sewerage farm, possibly the worlds largest with 100,000 migratory birds in the summer. Fortunately the stuff is now treated differently and the stink has gone.

Might have to join you for a shoot sometime, popped by the RAAF museum last week. Dunno how well you know Williamstown but by the old gunnery range is a reserve called Jawbone that gets interesting visitors. If you look through the groups section you might find a Melbourne Users Group, not the busiest section but worth posting in for a meet up.
Now is that a flame breasted or crimson breated robin? Gotten pics of both in the Brisbane ranges.
