Greetings Earthlings

My name is Bill Schroeder, my wife Vicki and I both love photography, and we spend a lot of time pursuing our passion. I own a Pentax K-x. We run Ubuntu on our computers, and edit our photography in GIMP. At present I'm testing out Darktable to see how it does, and from what I've seen I'm going to really like it. I was trained in Photoshop, but let's face it... I have way more important things I could spend hundreds of dollars on. (this was not meant to be an invitation to begin a PS vs everything else flame war! PS is awesome!) Gimp gets me where I'm going, and there are plenty of open source solutions to any problem I may encounter. I'm looking forward to learning more about my camera.

Welcome. I was a long time GIMP user too. But I got tired of waiting for 16-bit color which is a must when you scan BW film like I do and eventually bucked up for the proprietary solutions. I still like to use it on occasion.
