Hi,
I thought there would be a single thread for introductions, but it appears not.
Anyway, I learned photography in art school, one year of it using a Pentax film camera and a separate meter, developing and printing myself.
More recently, had a couple of jobs where I made thousands of product photos, indoors and out, using early digital camera (VGA resolution) and later a mid-level Canon point-and-shoot. I was distressed by the phoniness of the so-called "aperture" setting, as it had no affect on the depth of field.
I just got an X-k, and it's just great. I especially like taking macro shots at f40, as close as 2.5", and night shots/long exposures, which a film camera could never do right. Also got a couple of filters.
Looking forward to having some questions.
Skoal!
