I am a newbie to Pentax. I just came upon a Spotmatic, 5 M42 lenses, a ME and 5 k-mount lens. I have a 28/3.5, 35/3.5, 50/1.4, 55/1.8 and a 135/3.5. Any experience with the 50/1.4 and the 55/1.8? Also, is it worth a try to use them on a K5? I have been thinking about getting one.

I am an old Nikon user.

Welcome to the other side Durr! With regards to your question, I can only answer the last one, all lenses (K mount) is backward compatible to any pentax DSLR's including the K5. This is the beauty of the pentax system.
