Lurker Steps from the Shadows

Howdy! I guess an introduction and more involvement in this great forum is in order. I've learned alot lurking here.

I purchased a K7 about 2 years ago. It was my first DSLR. I've been working hard to learn and will likely always consider myself a student of photography. My new K5 is on the way. I like shooting low-light stuff and figured the upgrade to the K5 sensor will give me an advantage over the K7.

I love the Pentax ergonomics and believe you get more for your money with the great features and IQ of their new cameras. I'll be scouring the marketplace here for some older fast primes and other goodies.

I am Dave from Phoenix, Arizona. My interests, besides photography, are many. Here's a list of some; Motorcycle Travel, Hiking, Camping, Skiing, Snowboarding, Woodworking, Cycling, etc... My photography is most inspired by my true passion of motorcycle adventures.

I am married with kids. If there is one area of photography I really need to improve, it's in shooting people. Preferably, before the kids are all grown up.

Here's a few shots from my K7 that I like.

1. Live Hummingbird Macro

2. Racetrack

3. Zaans Schaans, Netherlands

4. Point Sublime, Grand Canyon

5. Toroweap Point, Grand Canyon

6. Lelystad Natuurpark, Netherlands

7. My Son

Welcome! Very nice photos (especially #5). Be sure to take some time and explore this forum, there is good information all over. There's also a photo gallery, you should post your photos there to get better feedback. Enjoy!
