Film noob in Fredericton, NB, Canada

Hi folks,

Initial impressions are that this is a very informative place, especially for a newbie like me. I just inherited an old K1000 from my grandfather. After years of being a "point-and-shoot" photographer, I was amazed at how fast I learned the basics of manual photography with the K1000. Awesome camera! I wish products still had that kind of build quality today. Anyway, I'm just interested in learning the art and I think I'm on the cusp of a lifelong obsession with photography. First order of business is to buy a 28mm lens of off ebay (see my other post if you can help). I'm in to landscape/nature photography but also enjoy getting shots of my kids and dog. Love film but will probably be looking at a K7 or even K5 this winter.

As a friend of mine who was also a fan years ago said, "It's the best camera ever made. You could hammer nails with it."
Welcome!
