Hello from Southern Ontario

First time poster, looks like a good site.

Used to love photography but fell out of it for a while. Just got back into it in the last little while, my wife's picked it up as a hobby but she's computer illiterate so I'll be maintaining all the files and doing any editing with my limited skills that will hopefully grow.

Searching these forums I've seen some phenomenal photography and it's inspired me to do better.

Love shooting winter scenes, it's the best time of year IMHO, and nice to see people on this forum from a wide geographic area.

Hopefully I can learn from those more experienced than myself (probably everybody) and pass on some photos of Ontario.

Glad to be here and hope to stay for a while.

Welcome to the forum Leaf Fan. We ALL have something to learn and something to share. That's what makes PentaxForums GREAT.

I'm in Windsor and you can't get any more Southern that that.

Thanks all for the warm welcome.

Yeah, it's funny when I speak with some of our neighbours to the south (US) and they find out that Southern Ontario is on a latitude further south than parts of Northern California.

uh-oh... This is going to be difficult.... Welcome to a leaf's fan.... there... I said it.

I just hope my fellow Sens fans don't see this....

whew..

Seriously, welcome to the club. We have a number of members in the S-W Ontario area (plus I do have roots there myself).

I echo JC's comments, there is room for all to contribute here. Looking forward to seeing your winter shots.

Welcome to the club.
Ah and you're a brave one with that handle. I applaud your courage. As for the southern latitude thing well Point Pelee is 41.58.00 and Northern California, Oregon border is 42.00.00. So technically we do have this little spec of land further south but nobody lives there other than some birds.....

Looking forward to some of your shots of winter.

I just knew someone would mention Point Pelee.
But that's Essex County so I'm safe.

So, Leaf Fan, where in SWO are you, if its OK to ask.

More Canuks the Merrier

I'm a transplanted Torontonian in NE Wisconsin (north of TO) via Atlanta (south of TO).

Joined up a month ago and really enjoy the great forum and candid help of the members.

Enjoy the ride.

Don't be shy about posting your winter shots!

Apologies JCS, I hadn't seen your question until now. I wasn't ignoring you, just too much to read and learn.

I currently live in Mississauga, but born and raised in TO.

Welcome from another ex-southern Ontarian! My Leaf fan status dates back to the days of Darryl Sittler and Davie Keon... even further to Punch Imlach, Frank Mahovolich, Bobby Baun and company. Those were the days with Ward Cornell in between periods in the hotstove league.

Anyway... best wishes to you with your new Pentax.
