Hello from Canada!

Just though I'd drop in and say hi! I'm looking forward to seeing what other pentaxians are up to, and getting the low down on shooting with a DSLR.

I currently have the K200D, 18-55mm and 50-200mm lenses- I'm in the market for a 50mm prime though, as I've heard nothing but good things about it and I'd like to start shooting more portraits.

You should be able to find a nice 50mm on the marketplace!

Pawn shops also have an abundance of 50mm primes. Mainly manual focus ones though, since they came with the old cameras. That's how I got mine and I'm plenty happy with it. Looking forward to hearing more from you.

I'm new to this all - but my initial reading suggests that I should get a 50mm (I mostly want to shoot portraits of our first kid - she's supposed to be coming any day now!). There are so many choices with such a wide range of prices. Good luck with your search!

The most logical choice is to invest a little into the FA 50 f/1.4 lens, which is Pentax's cost-effective solution to low-light and creative photography with autofocus capability.
