New to the Forum. Was interested in what folks though about the Spotmatic and 50mm 1.4. Not sure I would get an objective opinion on a Pentex Forum though.
Bought it after I got to the USS ESSEX in 1968. After we had been to sea for awhile I found it in the Ships Store. Don't remember what I paid for it, but it was a lot on an E-3's pay back then. It served me well for 3 more years in the NAVY and afterwards for many years. I bought a 300mm 6.3 prime from an officer who had set up a "camera club" on the ship and was able to get lens and cameras fairly cheap. I think he got in trouble after I got the lens for his "business". The lens was pretty slow and not very suitable for hand help shots unless in very bright light. Have picked up a 35mm and a 135 over the years to round out the lens collection.
This camera has been with me through thick and thin and is one of my most prized possessions.
