Greetings from SoCal

Hello everyone! I am happy to finally join this great forum after several years of reading through it's content. I have become ADDICTED to Pentax classic film cameras - I own an MX, ME Super, K1000, Spotmatic, and Spotmatic F. So, what better place to ask questions and gain knowledge but here?

Welcome! That's a nice collection you got there. You should post some examples from each camera.

Thank you!

I had not thought of posting pics of each camera - I think I will! I really feel like each camera has its own personality, which is what keeps me interested in trying different models. The holy grail would be an LX...soon...soon.

Hello form Mexicali Mexico, my cameras are K20D and K7, and a couple of lens, I should say that LBA has not affected me yet.

Great gear, Marie. Welcome! There are still film users here. I have a broken Spotmatic F, a fully functional SF-1 and MZ-S that my wife has taken over as well as the K10d that is my go to camera for now. Living in the boonies as I do, it is hard to find anything to do with film. The nearest location with development and printing is 135 Km (85 mi) West of us or 180 Km (110 mi) East. My wife is starting to get frustrated, so I think I know what to get her for Christmas, and she would not be satisfied with a point and shoot.

Welcome, MarieDJ. Orange County resident here. I enjoyed seeing your classic collection. Do you have any shots from those bodies/lenses?

I've had strange brushes with LBA with former Soviet Union gear (Industar, Jupiter, Zenitar, etc.) Are you shooting any of those lenses with Pentax DSLR bodies? I'm trying to figure out which lens adapter would be best for my case. Anyways, great to meet you here!

One of my favorite shots with Pentax 67, the 55/4 Lens, and Fuji Velvia 100F is below.

You know, I am looking to transition to digital, but have not had the opportunity to try a K5 out. I would like to just to see how it feels and play around with the lenses I already have.

Hey! It's the Cabazon dinosaur Love the coolness of the Velvia used in the picture above.

I believe Samy's camera carries the K-5 in the Orange County area. If I recall correctly, they usually have display models to test out. I was trying to find a K-5 at Best Buy, but the day I was going to get it, the stock was mysteriously depleted from online and in stores...

I will check it out then - I will bring my pentax adapter and a Jupiter 9 as well to see how they fit. Jupiter 9 is about the only soviet lens I have right now. Looking to get a CZJ Flektogon 35/2.4 - but it has been hard to get lately.
