Hello! New member from BC Canada!

Hello I stumbled on this wonderful forum when I was researching about the Super Takumar lenses. I'm an accounting student pursuing photography as a life-long hobby.

Here are a couple of shots (started DSLR a few months ago.)
shot with Canon Xti + Takumar 50mm F1.4

Well, welcome aboard eh?

Nice start to some images. watch to make certain they don't get washed out (the first one seems a bit flat). Be careful of flair.

Thanks Dave for the tips.

I'm having trouble focusing with the manual lens and playing with the settings.

Practice, practice practice! Make certain you pay attention to the cameras indicators for focus. It seems you are having more issues with depth of field (the aperture is too wide (f1.4 has VERY shallow DoF). Try dropping it down to f2.8 or 4 to bring it in better.
