Hey there, I stumbled across the forum while searchin for a way to get the Pentax software on the net (I'm getting a K100D Super for Christmas and I can't get the software to install on my Mac, or CS3 for that matter). Seems like a pretty nice place to hang out, and I'm always bored on the internet so...
As for me, this will be my first real digital camera. I've always been a subscriber of the "go big or go home" train of thought. I've messed around with some point and shoots before but nothing serious. I'm from Newfoundland, way out there on the eastern side of Canada, and I'm 20. I was technically a first year automotive apprentice, but I have spine and knee issues so I got out of that and am now lookin at applying to VANARTS for next September in the Digital Photography program.
Anyone have any pointers for a n00b like me, I tend to have issues with lighting situations (I don't have anything to show you what I mean right now as I'm away from my main computer). At night the sky seems to come out rather orange and it drives me nuts. Also what would you guys recommend as must have starter accessories? I'm assuming a good flash and tripod are probably the first major steps and then its lens acquisition. Which leads my to my final question, the Canadian Pentax site (
Pentax Canada - Compatibility of Pentax Lenses )says that DA and FA J lenses aren't recommended for K bodies, but the kit lens that I got with my camera is a DA 18-55mm, whats the deal with that?
Thanks everyone,
Neil
