Hello Anvh, I remember you (not that we talked much over at PU...).

Quite a shame PU lost so much traffic these past years.
You'll see, PF is quite good, with a low BS overhead (but as usual, FF threads should be avoided like the plague)...

Warm welcome!

Add to that "avoid list" political discussions, especially tea party or neocons vs. liberals. They can be... feisty...

Hello and welcome Jeff, are there more coming?

It's indeed a shame but that this would happen didn't surprise me, all around me i already heard voices about this, there just needed to be a spark to set it off.
There are only a few heavy users left there, i doubt it will be the same.

Thanks for the list which topics to ignore. ^^

Well, when you're foreign, these are quite fun to watch!

Welcome, Anvh!
Welcome to Prieni as well!

You may or may not remember me. We have posted to the same threads at PU, but admittedly I only rarely went there.

Good to see you over here. You'll find that this forum is a lot better supported in terms of features. This is part of the reason why I hang out here rather than at PU or similar forums. Also, one gets to know a core group of forum members and hence acquires a "home" forum, isn't it?

Fyi, 8? mods here I think, prettymuch no interference (I've never nuked a thread), the most excitement mods have here is trying to think of vaguely amusing ways to tell spammers to take a hike.
Note, quite, not quite. There have been infractions, temporary bans, bans, etc. but on the whole this is a very friendly place and moderators do not act heavy-handed (as long one stays away from taboo topics ).

I recall an old cartoon of a party where one person is naked except for a flag hat and a crucifix. They're holding a drink, chatting away. One bystander says to another, "You can talk to him about anything except sex, politics and religion." That's us.

Oh, and hello, Stefan!

EDIT: My initial reaction was less cordial. I thought, "Oh no, another PU'er, there goes the neighborhood!" I've been on PU. I'm not really impressed. I don't bother anymore. My impression of PU is that it's rather insular. And my comments there were mostly ignored. I hate ignorance.

Isn't that always true? It's fun to watch such discussion in foreign countries only when it's about your own country you can get really mad as you take the arguments more seriously.

Another one from the other forum, which has become too moderated for my liking.

Cheers, it was just a run in with a certain moderator (for the umpteenth time) about deleting posts for no reason. No biggie, I had been mulling over leaving anyway due to this guy's despotic tendencies, this was merely the final straw!

@ Asahi-Pentax, how about a clue as to your previous identity?
