Hello

Just joined this forum. Hello to everybody. I have had two Pentax SLR's in my life. A PZ10 and a K-20D. Love both but only use the K-20D.

Been a few years since I've shot any film myself, although I flirt with the idea sometimes. Welcome to the forums!

Thanks

Thanks Baro-nite. Did you catch a glimpse of Nikon's page today on their new releases?

The new mirrorless line? From a quick glance they look nice, a bit costly given the competition, but of course the Nikon name will sell.

Well....tech critics are not saying very many great things about it. I think I read on CNN this morning that of the 30K who were polled 66% said they would not buy it. Maybe Nikon is only interested in the 1/3 who said yes and that's their target market.S till given a choice between this and the Q or even Fuji's camera, I'd consider the latter two any day. The only thing I liked was an impressive 10fps rate but was unimpressed at the low 10 mp resolution limit. For that price, I'd want at most16 at least.

Wonder whom they polled. At the moment the mirrorless systems are interesting to me, but not interesting enough for me to consider buying in. If I decide I need a higher-quality portable than my old P&S, I'm more interested in the higher-end small P&S cameras such as the Canon S95.

Welcome! My film Pentaxi came after I got my K20D, which RULEZ! But I try to exercise the film cameras too. And my folders and TLRs and pinholes and all the rest. Occasionally...

Oh yes, the Nikon 1. Yes, it will sell, because 1) it has NIKON printed on it, and 2) it will be in every big-box store on the planet. Maybe Ricoh will start promoting Pentax similarly.

Must have polled japanese camera population

I am sure they would have polled the Japanese youth market at least, like how CNN polls readers each day on their website. Anyway, I really think the cameras look like they had school girls in mind for buyin' em. It looks pretty pansy. .....I mean what market segment buys white, red and pink cameras! Teenagers and maybe people from Provincetown (whoops sorry!)
