Hello from Puyallup Wa.

Just registered on this website. I am an owner of a Pentax MX. Who plan to upgrade to a K5. Was curious as to which would be a better telephoto for the K5 the Pentax 60mm-250mm or the Sigma 70mm-200mm? Can't wait to get the K5. Planning on selling my old MX.

If you're into action photography, then the sigma is probably the better choice as it's a stop faster and has better AF. The Pentax delivers excellent IQ and gives you more reach and the cost of stop.

Another option to consider would be the tamron 70-200mm, which is $600 cheaper than the Sigma and doesn't disappoint in terms of AF (only has slightly worse handling). See our review

Welcome! I envy you your proximity to Mt. Rainier and other stupendous scenery. And to your forthcoming K-5, although I expect to join you in that regard eventually.
