I use ancient (ca. 2004) software that came with PaintShopPro9. It's AnimationShop3 and it's a simple and powerful short-movie machine. I can load an AVI clip, extract frames as JPGs, and work with them; or feed it a pile of images and have it build an AVI or animated GIF. Newer warez exist but I'm happy with this dinosaur.
