Hello all. First things first. Great site. I have much to learn about Pentax again. I say again because I am a re-convert. I owned (still do) several Pentax SLR's from my younger days of shooting. K1000's and a still-super ME Super. Broke away for a while to shoot Nikon but I've recently purchased a K-r and I really dig this camera a lot and I'm eager to learn more about it from the experts - and the rest of you guys and gals who make a living shooting pics as well.

I read more than I post but I'll no doubt ask the occasional face-palm-worthy question.

The safe package is a Kr with 18-55 and 55-300 kit zooms. I have my own lens preferences, but that's a great place to start.

I agree the 18-55 and 55-300 are a good starting point
